Very helpful and clear advice. I have had Pat as a workshop leader on three occasions and in each I learned something new. Now I have it all in one small volume. Although I disagree with the notion that one cannot write from the perspective of a person one is not or has never been, that is the only exception I take to the contents of the book. I recommend it for any emerging writer and as a checklist for veterans.
